Ron Leadbetter (retired 2020) opened Nepean Music in Mornington, Victoria with his wife Sandra and sons Colin and Gavin in 1997. Rons legacy lives large in the music community on the Mornington Peninsula. Even in his retirement he continues to gig with his band and enjoy music every day.
Colin Leadbetter - OwnerColin started at Nepean Music in 1997. aftert 13 years working on the shop floorhe left to build a career as a Record Producer & Recording/Mix Engineer. Primarily Colin worked out of the amazing Sing Sing Recording studios i n Richmond/South Yarra. Colin has worked alongside an incredible list of artists including: Katie Noonan, Whitley, Sarah Blasko, Sweet Whirl, Leah Senior, Mission Songs Project, Archie Roach, Paul Kelly, Girlatones and Whistle & Trick to name but a few. Colin and his family returned to the Mornington Peninsula in 2020 and took over Nepean Music.
Joel Wheeler - ManagerJoel is a working musician and he's in it for life, because he loves it. He may have spent years working in the trades, but his true passion is and always has been music (more precisely, guitar). His knowledge of all things musical is an incredible asset to our store, and if you have a guitar question, you can be sure Joel has the answer. He is never standing still and is always preparing for the next gig. You can catch him with his hard working band "Bosley" at a venue near you.
Gavin LeadbetterGavin is on extended leave from Nepean Music but remains an owner. He is still a wild guitar player and prolific songwriter who you can catch in his long time band "The Distance".
